Fire Guard

Fire Guard Early Fire Detection & AI Gas Analysis

Detect fire before it becomes a fire.

The Fire Guard is an intelligent, satellite-connected early fire detection platform that identifies smouldering fires in their earliest stage — long before traditional smoke detectors or heat sensors would trigger an alert.

By combining multiple gas and environmental sensors with on-device AI classification, the system analyses the chemical signature of a developing fire in real time — without relying on cloud connectivity or mobile network coverage.

The Problem With Traditional Fire Detection

Conventional fire detection systems — smoke detectors, heat sensors, sprinkler triggers — are designed to respond to an active fire. By the time they alarm, significant damage has already begun. In remote environments such as forest edges, agricultural facilities, or large industrial sites, this delay can be catastrophic.

The Fire Guard takes a fundamentally different approach: instead of waiting for visible smoke or heat, it continuously monitors the chemical composition of the surrounding air. A smouldering fire releases specific gases — CO, VOC compounds, and combustion byproducts — before any smoke or heat is visible. The system detects and classifies these signatures at the earliest possible stage.

Critically, it does all of this without depending on a mobile network. Using satellite-connected LoRaWAN technology, the system operates reliably in forests, remote farmland, industrial zones, and data centres — anywhere traditional connectivity is limited or unavailable.

System Capabilities

Multi-Sensor Gas Analysis

Four dedicated sensors — MQ2 (smoke & combustible gas), MQ135 (CO, CO₂ & VOC), IR flame detector, and DHT22 (temperature & humidity) — work together to build a complete chemical profile of the environment.

On-Device AI Classification

Gas ratio analysis and AI classification run directly on the embedded MCU — no cloud required for detection decisions. The system identifies fire signatures, distinguishes gas types, and filters false alarms autonomously.

Satellite-Independent LoRaWAN

Powered by EchoStar EM2050 satellite-connected LoRaWAN — the system transmits alerts and sensor data from locations with zero mobile network coverage. Forests, remote farms, industrial sites: fully covered.

Real-Time Alerts & Dashboard

Instant alerts via Telegram and email when early fire signatures are detected. A centralised dashboard shows live sensor readings, historical trends, and alert logs — accessible from any browser, anywhere.

Built for Environments That Can't Afford to Wait

The Fire Guard is designed for deployment in locations where early warning matters most and traditional detection infrastructure is either absent or insufficient.

Forest Edges & Nature Reserves

Early detection of smouldering ground fires before they escalate — supporting forest management authorities and emergency services.

Agriculture & Livestock

Protecting stables, greenhouses, and grain storage from fire — where delayed detection means total loss of crops, livestock, and infrastructure.

Data Centres & Server Facilities

Ultra-early detection in server halls and cable rooms — where a smouldering cable can cause millions in downtime before any smoke is visible.

Industrial & Storage Sites

Chemical storage, logistics hubs, and manufacturing facilities — environments where fire risk is high and the cost of late detection is severe.

How It Works

The system continuously samples air quality using four sensors, processing the data locally on an STM32 microcontroller. An AI model — trained on gas ratio signatures from different fire types — classifies the environment in real time. When early fire conditions are detected, an alert is transmitted instantly via satellite-connected LoRaWAN, regardless of whether mobile coverage is available.

Unlike traditional systems that react to a single threshold (smoke concentration or temperature), the Fire Guard analyses the relationship between multiple sensor readings — identifying the chemical fingerprint of a smouldering fire up to 10–30 minutes before conventional detectors would trigger.

The result: more time to respond, less damage, and fewer false alarms.
